Protector Boats are built in New Zealand by Rayglass Boats. They are globally recognised, and preferred by some of the world’s most demanding commercial and recreational users. Over fourty years Rayglass has invested in research and development to continually improve Protector vessels and deliver uncompromising seaworthiness, comfort, and utility.

Protector vessels are fully customisable to each user’s unique needs, so every RIB matches its mission. Whether that’s for coastguard search and rescue, high-speed racing, game fishing, diving, commuting, or as a superyacht tender.
Engine options, seating layouts, specialist equipment, technology, and interior/exterior design can all be customised.

Depending on the size of your RIB, you can choose between a wide variety of engine options including triple outboards with up to 1,500 hp total - or twin inboards. We’ll help you match the power, efficiency, and installation of your engines to your vessel’s size and purpose.

Seating and layout options
Crew & passenger seating includes near endless options for customisation, to maximise comfort, safely accommodate a specific number of passengers, or simply improve your day out on the water.
Shock mitigation seats reduce the impact of shocks and vibrations on crew and passengers, making for a safer, more comfortable ride on longer journeys.
Mission-specific equipment can be integrated into any Protector layout, whether it’s for military, police, search and rescue, environmental research and monitoring, or commercial fishing and diving.
Crew welfare and tough luxury are catered for in every Protector, with a range of optional and standard inclusions, from basic sanitation and climate control, to comfortable sleeping quarters, fully equipped galleys, and more.
Protector Boats are built in collaboration with you, the user, to ensure they suit your needs. This is the process we follow:
- Consultation with you to understand your environment and operational needs.
- Full design proposal including 3D renders showing layouts, colour, upholstery design, engines, electronics, seating arrangements and extras.
- Ongoing consultations throughout the build.
- International delivery of your vessel and ongoing support.
